Twinsfest came and went with little fanfare, unfortunately. I saw a report that only about 14,000 people gathered this past weekend (total of all 3 days)! I know the Twins hope for many more people than that, especially during a 3 day event. They did announce that Twinsfest 2018 will also be held at Target Field but could be a week earlier than normal (due to the Super Bowl being in town). And then the event could shift to a different venue. I do think attendance could grow if the venue is changed. Target Field is a beautiful ballpark but its not a great venue to host such an event (since its in the winter).
I was able to buy a few things this year, nothing great tho. The best part of the trip was bumming around with my buddy Killer for the night on Friday.

Larry Culpepper Bobblehead
This one has nothing to do with Minnesota or 99% of my collection. However, its a new addition and a pretty cool bobblehead. Dr. Pepper made a bunch (I say a bunch because the production number isn't known, but they aren't super hard to find) of these Larry Culpepper bobbleheads. I believe only given to Twitter followers (through giveaways) and fans at specific college football games.

Nebraska Mascot Pepsi One Bobblehead
This is a recent addition to my collection, but its replacing the one I had previously. I have one complete set of these pepsi one mascot bobbleheads. However, since I completed it, I've always been looking to upgrade my Nebraska bobble. The reason...he doesn't hear so well, as he's missing an ear. Now I have 1 complete set with all bobbleheads in really nice condition. I've blogged about these Pepsi One bobbles previously, which you can check out here and here.

Corey Koskie Auto'd Bobblehead
I've made a handful of blog posts regarding bobbleheads I've come across that have been autographed. Sometimes the scores are big, like this previous post! While other times, they aren't quite as exciting...wah wah. But its still cool and one more bobblehead I'm adding to my collection!

Steve Fritz St. Thomas Bobblehead
My latest addition to the collection is a Steve Fritz bobblehead from the University of St. Thomas. Mr Fritz is currently the Athletics Director at St. Thomas and previously was coach of the mens basketball team. Originally done for Fritz personally, so many people loved the bobblehead they decided to offer them to the public! It's a well done bobblehead, but I kind of thought they would have put some sort of St Thomas logo on it! However, it is cool that it includes a piece of a "basketball netting."

PJ Fleck Mini Bobblehead
Row the Boat. Ski U Mah. PJ Fleck. He's the new head coach of the Minnesota Golden Gophers football team. So many people look at Fleck as a second version of Tim Brewster. Fortunately for us Gopher fans, Fleck has actually been a successful head coach before. Other than the enthusiasm, I don't think there is much of a comparison. This a mini bobblehead, of course in a boat. It's pretty sweet!

Wanda the Program Lady
This one has been on my want list for a long time. I saw a picture of it several years ago. It's not entirely Twins related, since technically she is a Chattanooga Lookouts employee, but its such a cool bobblehead, I had to find it. It'll go well with my other Lookout bobbles. A fellow collector reached out to me after seeing a post about it being one of my more desired bobbles. After a few messages we had a deal. He assured me he knew how to ship and I'm glad to say he definitely knew how to ship! It's a masterpiece and one of the highlights of my collection.

Twinsfest
Oof! It's been a while since I blogged. That's kinda what happens when there is a 6 month old at home. Lots of time for her and not much for most other things. The countdown to Twinsfest has begun. I know a lot of collectors are excited for it...I see posts daily in various facebook groups. Most of those posts entail autographs, and from my point of view, thats a huge part of Twinsfest (probably the sole reason that many people go). Fortunately for me, I'm not an autograph guy and therefore don't have to stand in various lines for hours upon hours. I'll bum around with a buddy of mine, have a couple beers and just walk around one of the best stadiums in MLB. I've never been a huge fan of Twinsfest at Target Field, but its also cool to be at Target Field in the middle of winter.
