30 Homer Bomba Squad - July 10th (Minnesota Twins)

The Twins shared pictures of some of the other promotions this morning, and the other 2 bobbleheads, of course, were part of that!  This is the one I've been looking most forward to for the last year...haven't seen a picture until now (and when I get a better res picture, I'll share that).  Members of the 30 Homer Bomba Squad are Miguel Sano, Eddie Rosario, Mitch Garver, Nelson Cruz and Max Kepler!  

Bomba Squad Bobblehead Set

Well, this was supposed to be a giveaway by the Twins (of course not in the setting) but FOCO released a Bomba Squad bobblehead set today.  I like the dual more than the 3 individuals and am curious why Mitch Garver isn't represented.  But a nice little Twins addition in the middle of "winter."

2018 Twins Bobbleheads

I've been informed that the Twins will be doing at least 3 bobbleheads during the 2018 season, 1 of which will be a Star Wars themed bobble. 

I can only assume that there will be 6 total, just like the past few years.  Star Wars Theme Night.  4 Giveaways and then lastly the Sweet Spot Season Ticket Holder bobblehead.  They've done 4 giveaway bobbles the past few seasons and I think that trend continues in 2018.  The question is WHO they will be. 

My hunch, Sano or Buxton (I'll put my money on Buxton) is the Star Wars bobble.  The 4 giveaways are truly up in the air.  I'm guessing they will do a bobblehead of whichever player is inducted into the Twins Hall of Fame (as thats been standard lately).  Torii Hunter was 2 years ago, Michael Cuddyer was this past season, how about Justin Morneau in 2018?  Buxton or Sano will get a bobblehead, Berrios should get one as well.  Which leaves 1 more bobble and my hope is its a throwback to a former member of the club, Frank Viola, celebrating the 20th anniversary of his best season with the Twins. 

New Addition - Miguel Sano Sweet Spot Bobblehead

The newest addition to my collection (from last night) is a Miguel Sano bobblehead.  These are commonly called "Sweet Spot" bobbleheads as season ticket holders rank various "Sweet Spot Benefits" and if you rank the player bobblehead high enough you get one towards the end of each season.  We found out about a couple weeks ago that Sano was the Sweet Spot bobble and the Twins began giving them to select season ticket holders last night.  Thankfully its produced by Success Promotions and is a great bobble, easily the best one (along with the Plouffe Star Wars - also by Success Promotions) of the season.

Another sneak peek, this time, it's the bobblehead the Twins are giving to select season ticket holders, commonly known as the "Sweet Spot" bobblehead.  It's definitely a very cool looking bobblehead and I'm pretty sure Success Promotions is behind it - which makes me very very happy!

Sneak Peek - Byron Buxton Bobblehead

Byron Buxton is getting his second bobblehead of the season, check out this link to read more about the first one.  The Chattanooga Lookouts are giving away this Buxton bobble on the 30th of July. This is the final bobblehead in a series of 3 the Lookouts gave away.  The first was Adam Brett Walker and the second was Miguel Sano.  Again, the Lookouts did a great job on these 3!!

Sneak Peek - Miguel Sano Bobblehead

Here's the second Sano bobblehead of the season, the first was the giveaway the Twins did a few weeks ago.  This one is coming from the Lookouts this Saturday!  This is the 2nd in a series of 3 bobblehead giveaways that Chattanooga is doing this season.  Again, they did a wonderful job on this one, just as they did on the Adam Brett Walker bobble 3 weeks ago.  The first 1000 fans get a bobblehead and this one will be pretty popular!  

Brian Dozier Bobblehead

Yesterday it was Miguel Sano at the Twins game, today its Brian Dozier at the Beloit Snappers game. This also looks like a pretty sweet bobble.  Based on previous Snappers bobbles, I'm guessing this will be a bit smaller than the normal size bobble, it won't be a mini, but many minor league teams do bobbles that are in the 5 inch range.  I'm sure cost is the major factor, and they still are great looking bobbles!

Miguel Sano Bobblehead

Today is the day, the first SGA bobblehead for the Minnesota Twins, Miguel Sano.  This is also Sano's first Twins SGA bobblehead as well.  He's had minor league bobbles, but never from the big club.  It's a sweet looking bobblehead, done by Success Promotions - which if you've been reading the blog for any length of time, you'll know that I'm a big fan of Success Promotions.  They do great work!  Go Twins!

Upcoming Giveaways - Chattanooga Lookouts

I'll be updating the info in the right sidebar under "Notable 2016 Bobblehead Giveaways" over the next couple of weeks. I've got a lot of new data surrounding those giveaways and some new ones as well!  I'll most likely do a couple blogs about the new giveaways too.  Plus I'm trying to figure out a way to show pictures of what these giveaways will look like.  I think that'll be a nice addition!

For now, I wanted to pass along the 3 bobbleheads that the Chattanooga Lookouts will be doing this year and Twins fans will be quite excited for these 3!  The first on June 25th will be Adam Brett Walker!  Next on the list is Miguel Sano on July 16th!  This is roughly 1 month after the Twins unveil their Sano bobble.  Lastly is the giveway on July 30th of none other than Byron Buxton!  Thats a nice trio of bobbleheads!  Hopefully I'll be able to update this entry as well as future ones with pictures!

Sneak Peek - Miguel Sano Bobblehead

Well...this is better than nothing.  Picture is super small - I'm working on getting a better one.  Here's a sneak peek at the upcoming Miguel Sano bobblehead.  Twins play the Yankees on Saturday June 18th and one of the more popular Twins giveaways this season (if not the most popular) will be the Sano bobble!  Once I get a better picture, updated!!

2016 Twins Bobbleheads Announced

The Twins released their promotional schedule this morning.  I knew there would be 4 bobbleheads but other than the vintage one, there hadn't been any talk about who the other 3 would be.  Now we know.

Saturday June 18th - Miguel Sano Bobblehead
Saturday July 2nd - Ervin Santana Bobblehead
Saturday July 16th - Torii Hunter HOF Bobblehead
Sunday July 31st - Vintage Bobblehead

There should be 1 more SGA bobblehead this season, but it'll be a special event ticket giveaway with a Star Wars theme, just like Phil Hughes last year.  Obviously I'll blog on that when it's announced!

Sneak Peek - Minnesota Twins 2016 Bobblehead

So the Twins are tweeting pictures (well, you have to retweet to see the actual picture) of promotional items that are giveaways this season.  Today was the first bobblehead picture.  It's another vintage one, but this year, its "bobble-girl."  I'm guessing it'll be similar to last years version of the "bobble-boy."

My hunch is this won't draw a ton of fanfare, similar to last years version.  Most Twins fans and bobblehead collectors are looking for popular player bobbles.  Hopefully we'll see Buxton and Sano bobbleheads this season!!  But on July 31st, you'll see people lining up for this one!

2015 Minnesota Twins Bobbleheads

Recently the Twins announced 3 bobbleheads from the upcoming season.  I don't have pictures yet, but when I do, I'll obviously post them!  Drum roll please...

The 3 bobbleheads will be, Paul Molitor, Phil Hughes and Brian Dozier.  None of these names are all that surprising.  Molitor was almost a certainty the second he was named manager.  And the other two are well deserving.  I was hoping we'd get some younger blood in terms of bobbleheads. Oswaldo Arcia, Danny Santana or Kennys Vargas?  Maybe some new blood in the likes of Ervin Santana?  Or even some future blood (I'm half joking) with studs Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano. I'm sure there will be a season ticket bobblehead and maybe one of those guys will turn out later in the season.

Does size matter?

Apparently when it comes to bobbleheads, it doesn't.  They came in all sorts of shapes and sizes. I've definitely been a bit surprised by their size (or lack thereof) in the past.  It's difficult to realize the height (if its not the standard 7 inches) unless pictured next to others that are a different size and/or height.  As you can tell by the picture below - they truly come in all sorts of different heights!

Pictured left to right: Doug Mientkiewicz, Crunch (Boyscout version), Wayland Noland, Miguel Sano, Kent Hrbek and Rod Carew.  Dougie baseball is roughly 3.5 inches tall while Carew is about 9 inches tall!  The 3 on the far left I'd classify as "mini" bobbleheads.  Hrbek is the standard, which leaves Sano and Carew. I'm not sure what to call either of them other than non-standard bobbleheads.
