Rochester Honkers Mascot Bobblehead

Here's an SGA bobblehead from the Rochester Honkers of the Northwoods League from this year.  It features their mascot, Slider.  I believe only 500 of these were given away.  Some of the Northwoods League teams do 2 versions of their bobbleheads, Rochester has done this in the past, but not this year.  The 2nd version is the retail version and doesn't include any sponsorship plaque.  That won't be an issue this year as this is the only version they are doing of Slider.

Keeping with the theme

No, not the theme of me never blogging anymore!  I'm sure most of you thought that at first.  The theme I'm sticking with - minor league & Northwoods league bobbles.  The next few blogs will be all minor league and northwoods bobbleheads!

First up, Twins "slugger" (notice the quotes please) Kennys Vargas.  This was a giveaway (limited to 1000) from the New Britain Rock Cats.  The Rock Cats are no longer affiliated with the Twins, but their fans know the Twins players, so here's their 3rd bobblehead this season (first 2 were Byron Buxton and David Ortiz).

Summer = busy

I haven't had much of a chance to blog lately.  Summer is quite hectic and busy for Jess and I (and Murphy).  I have several blogs lined up, I just need the time to write them.  Taking a little time now to get the first one done.  So this is another new addition to my collection.  These are 2 bobbleheads from the Fort Myers Miracle, minor league affiliate of the Twins.  "Stan and Haney"

Rare Tony Steven's Bobblehead - New Britain Rock Cats

Picked this bobblehead up a few weeks ago.  I had seen it before but never for a price I was willing to spend.  Finally found it and I'm happy to add this one.  There is quite a back story to Tony Stevens. Read more here and here.  Figured today is a pretty good day to blog about this specific bobblehead and Mr. Stevens himself.  Soon after the 9/11 attacks, Tony Stevens stopped playing minor league baseball and joined the Marines.

Thanks to everyone involved with our armed forces, have a wonderful and safe July 4th weekend.

Sneak Peek - Jon Teig Bobblehead - Cedar Rapids Kernels

Here's a quick sneak peek of a bobblehead the Cedar Rapids Kernels are giving out on August 7th. Jon Teig is the bat boy for the Kernels and has been for 15 years.  Scheels sponsored the bobblehead and it's a pretty cool one!  I believe only 1000 of these will be released, so get your tickets now! Here's the announcement made on the clubs facebook page.
