Timberwolves Bobbleheads

Yep, thats right, the Wolves are bringing back SGA bobbleheads this season.  I teased this with a post in early September.  At the time, I couldn't say anything until it was public knowledge.  It's been in the local paper so now I can officially announce the Wolves will giveaway 5 bobbleheads this year, starting with Andrew Wiggins on November 12th.  I haven't secured the names of the other 4, but I can only assume 2 of them will be Kevin Garnett and Karl Anthony Towns.  The other 2 are pretty debatable at this point.  Once I know more, I'll pass it along.  And of course once I have pictures, I'll post them!  Hopefully giving everyone sneak peeks of all 5!

I'm super excited for this set of bobbleheads.  The Wolves haven't done bobbles for a long time (and even the last handful of years when they have, its been for season ticket holders).  I'm glad they got back on the bobblehead bandwagon!

Update

The 5 bobblehead dates/players have been announced.  Here they are!

November 12th - Andrew Wiggins
December 26th - Karl Anthony Towns
January 23rd - Zach LaVine
February 20th - Ricky Rubio
April 13th - Gorgui Dieng

Big Ole Bobblehead

I recently added this one to my collection as well.  Big Ole - the famous statue in Alexandria, MN, the birthplace of Minnesota.  There is the modern bobblehead, while there is another similar one of Big Ole that I've yet to add to my collection.  I was happy to add this one tho as it's a pretty cool bobble!

Tires Plus - Tuffy Bobblehead

Here's another mini bobblehead for Tires Plus - a locally based company.  A local company - Graphic Source, also produced the bobbleheads for them!  I had been looking a long time for this one. Knowing its not all that valuable, I did have a spending limit in mind.  Recently a couple came up on eBay.  One was an auction the other was a fixed price, although they accepted offers.  Knowing there were 2 of them, I figured why not make an offer and see what happens.  It was accepted, I paid immediately and a few days later this one is added to my collection!

Canterbury Park - Pete bobblehead

This is a bobblehead of Pete...I'm guessing a former announcer at Canterbury Park in Shakopee.  My Jackson, MN math tells me the microphone in his hand must mean he's an announcer of some sort. Unfortunately, I don't know much beyond that.  Cool bobblehead tho and fits my collection quite nicely!

Minnesota Renaissance Festival Mini Bobbleheads

Earlier this year I blogged about a Ren Fest bobblehead that I picked up.  Click the link to read more! At that time I was informed there were 2 other bobbleheads that the Renaissance Festival produced. One of each of their hosts - Jim Cunningham and Laszlo Nemesi.  I believe the Jim bobblehead is from 2004 and Laszlo is from 2012.  These were gifts given to people who went to the Feast of Fantasy Dinner.  These are nice mini bobbles, very detailed but if you find them - be careful as with most mini bobbleheads, they aren't the most sturdy!

TwinsFest 2016

A little over a month ago it was announced via Twitter that TwinsFest would be held at Target Field the last weekend of January.  Friday the 29th through Sunday the 31st.  There is always plenty to do and see at TwinsFest.  This will be it's 3rd year at Target Field.  I believe the Twins want to make it an even bigger event than it already is.  Unfortunately Target Field can't take much more, although I'd move some of the events and and autograph signings to different areas within the stadium.  I believe certain areas could be better utilized.  As we get closer, I'm sure the Twins will make a formal announcement and share more and more information about the weekend, with of course the autograph signings being the main thing people (except, yours truly) are most interested in!

Remember, the event provides a huge charitable donation to the Twins Community Fund!

Matt Garza Beloit Snappers Bobblehead - 1st Edition

Been looking for this bobblehead quite a while.  This is the first Garza bobblehead the Snappers did...when they were a Twins affiliate.  They just did another Garza this past year.  I wish bobbles were still produced like this one...nice, sturdy, well built/molded.  Some are still very good, others leave a lot to be desired.  There is a specific box for this one, that I'd still like to have, but I wasn't passing on this one because it didn't come with a box.  I'd much rather have the bobble than the box, right!?!

Lee Corso Pepsi One Bobblehead

I finally completed the Pepsi One Set.  Click here to read more about it.  This is one of the hardest sets to put together.  I recently picked up this Lee Corso bobblehead to finish off the set.  This is the 2nd Corso I've had...the first one I had was damaged and I wanted a better one.  I didn't think it'd take nearly 18 months to find my 2nd one, but at least...I have a complete set.  You notice the link only talks about the mascots in this collection.  There are 3 announcers (all on College GameDay now) in this set.  Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler.

Fargo Moorhead RedHawks Bobblehead/Bank

I had never seen this bobblehead prior to buying it on the spot.  I've done some research and I believe only 50 were made.  From there it gets cloudy.  I've heard it was a retail bobblehead that the RedHawks sold, but also have heard that these were given away to RedHawks employees.  No matter how popular a bobblehead is...when only 50 were made, its rare and has value, especially in the bobblehead world.  I'd say since its also a "bank" it has some value to the mini bank collectors as well.  Super cool bobblehead!

EBN Contractors Bobblehead

Picked this bobblehead up several weeks ago.  Its from EBN Contractors.  From the little information I can find, this is a Builder/Contractor company located in Cloquet.  Obviously it fits my collection since its Minnesota based, but these are the ones I absolutely love - the random bobbles that are MN related.  I'd never seen nor heard of this bobblehead, but glad its in my collection!

Joe Mauer Target Field Exclusive Bobblehead

I had seen this bobblehead before...a while ago, its a Forever Collectibles bobblehead, which if you are an avid reader of mine...you'll know I'm not a huge fan of FC bobbles.  I believe (and readers, correct me if I'm wrong) this Joe Mauer bobblehead was sold at Target Field in 2010.  I've asked people at the team store and other Twins officials and nobody really knows anything about it.  But using my wonderful Jackson Minnesota math education, I'm putting 2 and 2 together and getting 4. Usually Forever Collectible bobbleheads are retail bobbles.  The fact that the base reads "Inaugural Season 2010 Target Field" leads me to believe that its certainly a Target Field exclusive or perhaps a Target (store) exclusive to MN.  Feel free to reply to the post with more information if you have it!

Sears Automotive Bobblehead

I don't know much about this one.  Picked it up several months ago.  Been researching since then and haven't come up with much.  I believe its a Sears Automotive mechanic.  They do use the slogan on the base.  This isn't really a MN based bobblehead, but its cool nonetheless and for the time being will be staying in my collection.

Hogie Bobblehead - Duluth Huskies

Back in 2010, the Duluth Huskies honored longtime equipment manager, Dale Haagenson with a bobblehead of his likeness.  "Hogie" bobbleheads were pretty popular in the area at that point.  I hadn't seen one for a while and finally picked this up a few weeks ago.  It's a cool bobble and perfect for my eclectic Minnesota collection.  I believe only 1000 were given away!

Mini Joe Mays

There are 2 Joe Mays bobbleheads that I know of.  The SGA by the Twins and this one, as a Timber Rattler.  It's a mini...I'd say, less than 3 inches tall.  Been on the hunt for this one quite a while and finally got it for a price I can live with.  The internal debate I'm having with myself is if I should collect minor league bobbleheads of current/former Minnesota players from teams the Twins weren't affiliated with.  This fell into that category as Mays was drafted by the Seattle Mariners and the Timber Rattlers were their minor league affiliate at the time (the Twins have never had an affiliation with the Timber Rattlers).
